About EngmoDun
EngmoDun manufactures Scandinavia’s finest down duvets and pillows.
Once upon a time…
Many years ago, a young man began making pillows and duvets filled with genuine down in a small basement workshop in the Söder district of Stockholm.
His name was Thomas Mortensen, and in 1952, he founded what would become EngmoDun. It all started on a small scale, but before long, the workshop became too small.

Then and now
EngmoDun has grown steadily over the years, and today, over 70 years later, we manufacture Scandinavia’s finest down duvets and pillows.
We are constantly learning and improving our products through certified tests in our own down laboratory.
Our business is built on genuine craftsmanship and extensive experience. But it is innovation that drives us forward—a perfect balance of tradition and innovation.

Only down from Europe
We believe that the ducks and geese that provide us with the comfort of better sleep should live good lives. That’s important to us.
That’s why every single piece of down we use is fully traceable, giving us complete control over its handling—including washing, sterilization, and sorting—always in compliance with EU regulations.
We source only down and feathers from poultry slaughterhouses in Europe, all of which operate under EU food legislation and the world’s strictest animal welfare laws. This means that the birds are monitored by veterinary authorities from hatch to slaughter.
Under no circumstances do we purchase materials from live-plucked birds. Down and feathers are byproducts of meat production—you could think of us as a recycling company that refines waste from slaughterhouses. We purchase down and feathers exclusively and directly from slaughterhouses, ensuring that our materials come only from deceased animals.

Our Own Laboratory
In our laboratory, we continuously test the quality of our down. This ensures that the standards we have set are always met by our suppliers. Of course, we also test the quality of our own down to maintain the same consistent and high standard across all our products.
Our independent test laboratory is approved by the European Down and Feather Association (EDFA). This means that we, along with other companies and public authorities, can conduct certified and valid tests here.
